Quick question. Actually a few. I'm Renee, 44, from Winter Park. My first burn was Firefly last summer at my sister's camp, and I hosted a sunrise kettlebell workshop. Eleven people came. I am going to the Burning Man festival next year and I already know what my gift is.
I'm putting together "Sunrise Kettlebells and Goal-Setting" and I need a camp with a stage, shade and kettlebells. How do I join one? I'll ask nicely. Radical Inclusion means they have to say yes, right?
Also, is there a schedule of the parties yet. I want to plan outfits by night. And when do tickets go on sale. I looked at the pinned post but it was very long.
I also do portraits, so if you dress up I will probably want your picture.
So excited. Thank you in advance.

Love this. Genuinely. "Radical Inclusion means they have to say yes" is the best sentence anyone has posted here this month, and this month a guy named Moonbeam asked if his self-given playa name could go on a business card.
Quick answers, since you asked for quick: there is no party schedule. The party schedule is "whatever's loud." Your 6am kettlebell class is going to be competing with the sound camp next door that's been going since 2am. Also nobody is hauling kettlebells to the desert for you. It's giving corporate wellness retreat, but dustier.
And wade. "Room for one more" in an intro thread. Incredible. Never change. Actually, please change.
Not joking for once: whatever outfit you plan, put lights on it, and on your bike. Unlit people at night get hit by art cars. That part I'm not being mean about.
Anyway, cope.

Piggybacking, since I'm also new and the pinned post is apparently a novel. Asking for a professional reason: is there a press pass for the festival, or do photographers buy a regular ticket like everyone else? I shoot weddings and real estate. I can handle dust. Probably. 📸
Renee, you and I should compare notes on portraits. My view is it's a public event, people know there will be cameras, and I'll ask when it's practical.
Also, if any camp takes edited photos as a gift instead of pancakes, I'm available. Otis (the dog) is not, I'm told. 🐶

To be clear, a few corrections, because these will matter more than the outfits.
1. It's not a festival. There's no lineup and no audience. You don't attend it, you're part of it.
2. There is no party schedule. There's a guide of registered events, and most of what happens isn't in it. That's on purpose.
3. Radical Inclusion means anyone can come. It does not mean a camp has to take you. Camps have dues, build days, shifts and a fixed amount of shade.
4. No camp has spare kettlebells. Every pound of iron someone hauls out there is a pound of water they didn't.
5. Water math: 1.5 gallons per person per day, minimum, times days plus two. Shade first.Read the survival guide. All of it. Not the top ten. All of it.
@goldenhour_otis: there's no press pass. Buy a ticket. And ask before every photo. Every one. I'm a photographer too, and the camera mostly stays in the tent.

Hi Renee, welcome. Real answers, in order.
Camps: post in Find Your Camp over the winter with what you'll bring and what you'll do. Dues, build days, shifts, then the workshop. Camps pick the people who show up for the boring parts, and "I'll do dish shift and stay for strike" gets more yeses than any principle. (Radical Inclusion means anyone can come to the event. It dosen't mean any camp has room. Room is a physical thing out there. Shade is finite.)
Kettlebells: a full 5-gallon water jug is about 40 lbs and has a handle. You're bringing those anyway. Gift the workshop, use the water. 🙃
Parties: there's a guide of registered events once you're there. You won't follow it. Nobody does. Plan outfits by mood, not by night.
Tickets: watch the official announcements only. Don't buy from strangers on forums. Ever.
Night: light yourself, please. Outfit, bike, all of it. 💡
Wade: she asked for a camp, not a roommate. Find Your Camp is for camps.
Questions below. I'm here all winter.

Welcome, Renee. A sunrise workshop is a fine gift, and I say that as someone who is also up at 5 a.m. out there, though with a two-burner stove instead of a kettlebell.
One thing to add to what Pixel said, from the kitchen side. When you write to camps, lead with the shifts you'll take, not the workshop. A camp feeding sixty people is going to ask whether you'll do dish shift long before it asks about your stage. The right answer is yes. The right answer is always yes.
And if you land in a camp with a kitchen, ask to run it right next door. Nobody sets a goal well on an empty stomach. Feed people first.
Y'all, she's been here six hours. Let her buy a ticket before you run her off.
Reader, I have watched a great many party schedules meet a dust storm. This is fine.
